Shown driving 457mm steel tubular piles under an existing OLE system. This unit has been used extensively on the West Coast Main Line where ground conditions prevent stanchion bases being a viable option. The piling head can pick up, place the pile vertically and vibrate the pile into the ground until the pile is level with the ballast. Piles ranging from 300mm upto 762mm can be driven with the same vibrating head. The piles can be spliced or bolted together to reach solid ground and do NOT require concrete to fill the inside of the pile as the piles are tested to guarantee sufficient strength for the signal, gantry or footbridge that is to be placed on the pile.
